Hi! Who is organizing this event? I haven’t seen anything other than the dates on the calendar.

Have not seen any updates on the organization of the BH community sale. Is BHA advertising? Providing maps to the participating neighbor houses? Providing signs?

Hi,

I’m thinking of buying the property on 7317 Byron St. The lot is over an acre and I’d like to put a shop on it and maybe one day an ADU. Both projects would require clearing trees that are currently on the lot.

Naturally, I don’t want to buy the lot with some plans for the land and then find out later that I can’t do what I’d hoped. And I’m absolutely not interested in getting into conflicts with the HOA.

Can you give me any guidance on this?

I’m reaching out as the PTA Activities Chair at BHES. We are in the process of planning the 1st Annual Harbor Hustle where students (anyone is welcome!) run/walk from BHES to the BH Marina finish line. I’m doing a bit of research on liability waivers and not getting too far. It was suggested to check in with BHA as you guys had a waiver for the bike parade the last two years. Did you work with an attorney to draft that or word it on your own? Would you be willing to share it with us as we draft one specific to our event?

Below is information about the parade we thought you might like to share with your association members. We also have flyers we can send your way. Your community always has a great turn out on the beach to cheer on the boats! Let us know if you have any questions.

It’s time again for the Olympia Yacht Club Parade of Lighted Ships! This annual event is just around the corner on Saturday, December 7th. The parade will start at 6:00 p.m.
Enjoy the festivities at the Port Plaza starting about 5:00 p.m. where Santa will be handing out candy canes (while supplies last), Dancing Goats will have coffee and cocoa available and the Capital High School Choir will be performing, then get ready to cheer on your favorite boat!

The decorated boats will start by cruising north from Percival Landing, past Port Plaza Dock and then north along the east side of Budd Inlet to Boston Harbor. They will then return to Olympia along the west side of the inlet.

While sponsored by OYC, all South Sound boaters are encouraged to participate. This year’s theme is “Baking Spirits Bright”(think gingerbread houses & cookies, gum drops, swirled lollipops, etc.) For information on participating go to www.theolympiayachtclub.com and look for the Lighted Ships Parade links at the bottom of the home page.

The Parade of Lighted Ships is a popular and long-standing Olympia tradition and hundreds of people come out to the Port Plaza area or gather in households along Budd Inlet to watch the festivities. East Bay Drive and West Bay Drive also provided great spots for viewing. We hope you can join us!
