Brian VanCamp VanCamp [email protected] Notice and membership.

I, on behalf of Thurston County Fire Protection District 8 (South Bay Fire Department) have applied for (and I assume were included in) membership with the BHA, however, have never received any confirmation or subsequent correspondence or direct notification of events. Could you check and see if our membership is current, and add us to the “network” on association information? Thanks!

Dorraine Turner [email protected] Annual Garage Sale date

I’m hosting my daughters bridal shower in August and I want to make sure I don’t schedule it on the same date as the annual garage sale (it will be large). Any idea of when the garage sale date will be for 2023? Thanks.

Velma Rogers [email protected] garden tool person to sharpen my hand tools

Just thinking out load. Hoping someone who can put me in touch with to find the person over there who sharpens garden hand tools. I’ve had them done by other people, but they did not do a good job. I remember a long time ago there was a young man who did a great job, but I forgot his name and how to contact him . Love this area, thanks for taking you time to read my email. Velma

Sara Pratt [email protected] Environmental Noise Pollution Control

I would like the board to weigh in on environmental noise violations within the community. Where “peaceful” and “quiet” have been used on this site to describe the surroundings, it no longer is for us after living here for over a decade.
Whereas it is technically legal to have a rooster in BH. Environmental noise act prohibits a a decibel of over 55 measured on the receiving property. This roosters pen has been placed about 50 feet from our bedroom window and has been measured at 78 decibels.

Thank you for your attention to this.

Pete Helseth [email protected] Boston Harbor PTA Donation

Good Evening. Jennifer Helseth ( [email protected] ) donated $500 for the Boston Harbor PTA sponsorship. The PTA will be paying her back. Per the board the logo has already been submitted. Please feel free to reach out if we are incorrect.

Dorraine Turner [email protected] Garage Sale

I have my daughters outside bridal shower scheduled for August 19th with about 50 people. I’m hoping that the annual garage sale doesn’t get scheduled for this date. Thanks

David Stride [email protected] How to edit contact Information

Hello,
I just joined and upon reviewing my contact information, I see that the phone number is missing a digit, also, two email addresses were added automatically and I only use one of them. How do I change them?

Mike Van Deusen [email protected] 3rd of July Bike parade

Hello! I writing in regards to the 3rd of July kids bike parade. We are looking forward to this event as it’s been a joy for the community for many years! For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, I wonder if a couple small changes might improve the experience. Due to a significant increase of the number of riders over the years and more older riders, a ‘wave’ start might be better: 8 yr olds and up first, and then 7 and under go after the completion of the older kids. I am willing to lead the older kids as well on my bike to keep the pace moderate (I have two boys: 8 and 5). I have cones as well to ensure riders stay on the right side of the road. Thanks for your consideration and let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Eric F. Hurlburt Hurlburt [email protected] newsletter

I just looked at the BHA website for the first time. I think this BHA Board is doing a great job and getting more involved with community issues and not just the fireworks. This I applaud.

As a past Board member, I would love to see you start publishing a newsletter to let all of us know what is happening in the community and what the BHA is doing. Nextdoor was envisioned as a tool to provide this information, but it has been derailed and is no longer limited to the BHA neighborhood. It doesn’t need to be a regular, monthly publication but can be sent out when there are issues or topics that would be of interest to the neighborhood as they arise.

Garret Tanner [email protected] Mooring boat with generator

Good evening BHA,

I’m writing to see if anyone has raised concern (and raise one myself) over a boat mooring in the harbor for the past several weeks that has a generator on board. I’m not one to make a big deal about these things normally, but this generator has been running nightly between 5 and 9-10 for several weeks. In an otherwise dead quiet neighborhood, I’m finding it to be a real nuisance. It might be the unique placement of my house, but when sitting on our deck, or relaxing in our hot tub, the constant drone of the generator is a real bummer. On this past Friday night the generator was running until at least 11:30pm (possibly longer, but I finally put in earplugs and fell asleep). Since I’m (relatively) new to the area, I’m not sure who I should be contacting, so I thought I’d start here. I live at 7512 Boston Harbor Rd NE, and while I can’t confirm the exact boat, I do believe it’s the non-sailboard moored directly in front of my house, between 74th and 75th Way NE (but closer to 75th). If you can point me in the right direction with who to contact I’d very much appreciate it. -Garret

Lisa Parshley [email protected] Boston Harbor Light House

Hello,

Fellow Olympia City Council member Jim Cooper and I would love to present to the executive board an opportunity available to Boston Harbor Neighborhood Association (or the Marina) involving the Light House.

When is the next board meeting or can we get a special meeting scheduled? Jim and I have meetings most week nights but might be able arrange a Monday or Thursday evening. Saturday’s could work best but timing is completely negotiable.

Thanks,

Lisa

Lynda Eich [email protected] update of bylaws

Could you please advise me of how you think the bylaws need to be updated, specifically by article and section. Without this information ahead of the meeting, I feel like I am going in blind.
Thanks for letting me know.

Marianne Tompkins [email protected] Conservancy

Hello! I live in the Boston Harbor neighborhood on 73rd. I understand there are plans, along with the City, to protect some of the corridors. Is this correct? I would like to learn more about this, and if it could possibly pertain to my property. I look forward to hearing back. Thank you!
